This is the collection of Bodi trees grown from cuttings of the one that Siddhartha achieved enlightment under and became Buddha, allegedly.

2011.01 - Kandy, Sri Lanka
Kandy is the city where the Buddha Tooth-Relic is supposedly kept. We visited, but couldn't even see the box that the tooth is kept in.

2011.01 - Kandy botanical gardens, Sri Lanka
Outside Kandy are botanical gardens with an excellent orchid house

2011.01 - Sinharaja Forest, Sri Lanka
Sinharaja is a piece of original 'wet zone' forest, renowned for its heavy rainfall (read: leeches). We had the driest sunniest weather here for a couple of weeks! Very few leeches as well (sheer luck), thank goodness.
A pit viper, but too tiny to be scary, bless (speak for yourself, funny boy)

Wild pineapple. We also saw some of these on sale in the markets. About half the normal size for double the normal price!!

2011.01 - Tissa, Sri Lanka
Tissa is the place for visiting Bundala and Yala National Parks. It was rather soggy when we were there, despite being the 'dry zone' in the 'dry season'.
