2010.09 - Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, Nepal

We started on the Annapurna Sanctuary trek from Pokara. It was raining for the first 48 hours making life very wet and uncomfortable. I also had a terrible cold. We didn't see anything for the first 2 days hiking. The third day, the cloud finally lifted and monsoon seemed to have ended. We could finally dry all of the clothes, boots, etc.
It was very beautiful scenery and lots of waterfalls, rivers and no cars. It was very peaceful. Unfortunately, due to my lack of energy from the cold we did not make it to the Sanctuary :0( I guess we will have to try again another time.

There were alot of suspension bridges to cross. This one is fairly large. YOu can see John in the middle :0)

There are so many different kinds of dragonflies in all different colours.

This photo (and below) was taken at the hotel in the mountains where the hot springs were. We spent a day resting here and going to the hot springs (see last photo). The picture below was taken from the balcony of our room. Stunning.

I have no idea what he is looking at.......................

This huge moth was also staying at our hotel....................
